Abroad ESL Teacher Job Description
Student age: 3 – 12 years old
Class size: 6 – 12 students per class
Class length: 40 minutes per class
Working Hours: 40 hours; office hours and teaching hours.
Chinese Teaching Assistant: You will be assisted with a bilingual Chinese teacher.
Training: Initial 7 – 10 day Junior training, monthly training online
Responsible for whole learning process for students. Help the students to do pre-learning and review, keep a close contact with parents about learning progress.
Support other teaching or marketing activities as needed, e.g Demo show, Ceremony, family day, Open day.
Decoration the classroom with suitable materials. keeping teaching equipment in good conditions.
Proactively participating in the school’s social program including Extra Curricular Activities.
Actively participating in Employee training programs by the school
Attending all scheduled meetings where the teachers’ presence is required.
Other tasks assigned by the Education Department and Center Director within his/her working hours.
Teaching locations
Nationwide in China, including Shanghai, Shenyang, Nanjing, Chongqing, Harbin, etc.
Abroad ESL Teacher Job Requirements
Speaks English at an Idiomatic level
Degree: BA or above
Experience: TEFL / other teaching certificate or 2 years teaching experience required.
Available for working at weekend
Abroad ESL Teacher Salary and Compensation
Average monthly salary RMB 15K-25K per month. USD 2,290 – 3820 before tax
40 hours week, 2 days off per week
There will be a payment toward airfare costs of 6,000 RMB after the Employee has completed 12 months of the contract.
The Employee will be given all statutory holidays as paid holiday, In addition the Employee will be granted a 1-day paid holiday for Christmas.
The Employee is allowed 3 sick days without deduction of salary.
Housing: Provided studio or 2-bedroom apartment *
Bonus: Monthly bonus for every class after 6 classes: one hour for USD 15 (RMB 100) *
Bonus: Monthly bonus USD 73 – 290 (RMB 500 – 2,000) *
Airfare Bonus: Provided one way to China USD 890 (RMB 6,000).
Bonus: Provided once contract is fulfilled USD 890 (RMB 6,000).
Demo class bonus: USD 7 (RMB 50) per student *
Over time: Paid at class rate stipulated by the school *
Insurance: Basic health insurance.
Public Holiday: Chinese public holidays off.
Annual Holiday: 3 Paid annual leave *
Sick Leave: 5 paid days’ sick leave *
